The Urban and Rural Planning Department of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University was established in 2011, integrating a number of undergraduate majors such as "Resources Environment and Urban and Rural Planning Management", "Forest Resource Protection and Recreation", "Tourism Management" and "Urban Management" and a master's degree in "Urban Planning and Design"Relevant teaching and scientific research resources were approved for the first-level master's degree granting "Urban and Rural Planning (0833)" in the same year, and the five-year undergraduate major of "Urban and Rural Planning" was established in 2017.
There are currently 33 faculty members in the subject, including 6 professors and professor-level senior engineers, 13 associate professors, 12 with doctoral degrees, 1 with special allowance from the State Council, 2 with provincial-level 151 talents, and 7 with overseas study experience.
The subject is characterized by the planning, design and management of the "three-in-one" of ecology, production and life. It insists on the integrated development of regional urban and rural areas and the key issues of human settlements as the research focus, and emphasizes the close integration of human settlements planning and ecological science.Relying on the provincial key disciplines of landscape architecture, combining the advantages of tourism management, sociology and other related disciplines, with rural planning and design as the research feature, the following three research directions have been established:
