1.Current status of subject development
The tourism management discipline originated from the Forest Tourism Teaching and Research Section established in 1994 by Zhejiang Forestry College.In 1999, two undergraduate majors of forest resource protection and recreation and tourism management were opened.The Department of Tourism Management was established in 2003.In 2010, the first-level discipline of urban and rural planning approved by the Academic Degree Office of the State Council was one of the three main disciplines of the "Human Environment Planning and Design and Green Building" discipline group of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University; as the first-level discipline of urban and rural planning and the undergraduate major of tourism managementAn important supporting force. After 12 years of development and accumulation, the tourism management discipline has achieved significant progress and improvement in the improvement of teacher structure, laboratory construction, teaching quality, scientific research achievements and the implementation of scientific research projects.It has made positive contributions to industry development, tourism professional training, technological innovation and social services.
The tourism management discipline has a team of reasonable teachers with a reasonable professional title, educational background, and age structure.At present, there are currently 20 teachers in the subject, including 3 professors and 10 associate professors; 10 have doctorate degrees (including 5 PhD candidates); teachers with master's degree or above account for 90% of the total number of teachers.

According to the 2013 evaluation report of the authoritative tourism journal "Tourism Journal" on the tourism management disciplines of 1,115 tourism departments (professionals) across the country, the tourism management discipline of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University ranks among the top 6.7% of the national universities, That is, the tourism management discipline of our school ranks 75th among 1,115 tourism management disciplines nationwide.
2.Main research directions and characteristic advantages
The tourism management discipline is based on the school’s“agriculture and forestry”characteristics, under the academy’s existing knowledge of tourism resource development and planning, scenic spot management, service management and other knowledge backgrounds, combined with the school and college’s resource background to form“forest tourism”and“rural tourism”"Health tourism" has three characteristic research directions, and has formed its own advantages in the research fields of ecotourism, tourism resource development and planning, leisure and outdoor sports.
2.1Forest tourism direction
Research fields: Forest tourism is divided into three levels for research, one is forest tourism resources; the second is forest tourism area management research; the third is forest health tourism.At the level of forest tourism resources research, three key research areas of forest landscape resources, forest tourism environment, and forest ecological culture are set up to form a comprehensive and systematic study of forest tourism resources. The three directions complement and promote each other.
2.2Leisure agriculture direction
Research fields: Leisure agriculture is researched on five levels: leisure agriculture resources, leisure agriculture market, farming culture, leisure agriculture planning and design, leisure agriculture management and management, and leisure agriculture and health services.
2.3Health tourism direction
The research on health tourism is divided into three levels. One is the research on the construction of a health tourism theory system; the second is the research on the development and management of health tourism resources; the third is the integration of health tourism products and rehabilitation-type health tourism products based on forests, hot springs, mountains and other resources.Research constitutes a comprehensive and systematic research on health tourism.
In the past 5 years, the main research results obtained by this discipline include: presided over and mainly participated in 7 national-level projects, presided over 21 provincial and ministerial-level projects, published more than 200 academic papers; of which 2 were included in SSCI and SCI journals, and included in EI3, 1 full-text copy of newspapers and periodicals from the National People's Congress and 4 first-level publications.Published 5 monographs, 1 translation, 2 independent textbooks, 1 textbook and 1 collection of the editor-in-chief.
Continuously explore and adhere to the characteristic school model of "school, enterprise, and research". The tourism management discipline is closely integrated with local economic practice, which promotes the development of interdisciplinary and improves the theoretical level of solving industry practice problems. The backbone teachers of disciplines actively strive for varioussocial resources, in the form of cooperation, undertake more than 300 social science and technology service projects, with a total of more than 20 million yuan.
4.Cultivation of talents
In order to improve the quality of undergraduates' talent training, combined with its own school-running positioning and subject characteristics, after repeated discussions on the subject, it is proposed that tourism management undergraduate training should "highlight characteristics and give full play to advantages".First, gradually develop measures to jointly train undergraduates with relevant universities at home and abroad: specifically, 1) exchange students with Southwest Forestry University; 2) plan to jointly train and award degrees with universities in Taiwan, Japan, the United States and Australia with similar disciplines, The learning period is 2+2 or 3+1 mode.Secondly, in 2011, he successfully applied for a master's degree program in urban and rural planning, and set up a second-level program "Urban and Rural Tourism Planning and Management" independently in the first-level program of urban and rural planning in 2014, providing more opportunities for tourism management undergraduates to continue studying for a master's degree.For the counterpart path.
